Model Making, where to begin.

My oldest brother made models, beautoful models of aircraft mainly, and this is what got me started. But what changed it all was a lttle known, seldom spoke of 'B' Movie called Star Wars. I know I am sure you have never seen it. But it had the most amazing spaceships. i wanted to build them. I had always been a Sci-Fi fan but I had never thought to combine models with sci-fi until that movie.

Kits came first. Lots of kits. Then I met a bunch of folks who built the kits and scratchbuilt too. This club wa scalled Tameside Science-Fiction Modelling Society, run by the amazing George Barns. George and the thirty or so crazy people taught me everything I needed to know about building, painting, diorams, the works. Though the club is long gone I rememebr those days and those people with great fondness.

Now I still build spaceships. Not as often, but with more care and, I like to think, a little more skill.
